A Taste of California’s Sierra Foothills | Wine Tasting November 12
Thursday, November 12 | 4–6 PM | Sunapee Cellar & Pantry
This Thursday, we’re heading to California’s Sierra Foothills for a little wine discovery, and we think you’re going to love where this tasting takes us!
Join us for a fall afternoon featuring four distinctive wines from Terre Rouge and Easton Wines, a boutique winery tucked into the Shenandoah Valley in California’s Amador County. Known for beautifully balanced wines with plenty of personality, Terre Rouge and Easton bring a little old-world inspiration to California winemaking.
At the heart of the winery is Bill Easton, one of California’s original Rhône Rangers, whose passion for Rhône-style wines and old-vine Zinfandel has helped put the Sierra Foothills on the wine map. The winery focuses on high-elevation vineyards, crafting wines that showcase the character of this distinctive growing region.
We’ll be exploring four wines, starting with a white and moving into three reds:
- Terre Rouge Roussanne – A wonderful introduction to this Rhône white varietal, offering richness and character while keeping things fresh and inviting.
- Easton The Mountaineer – A chance to discover the Easton side of the winery and its take on California reds.
- Terre Rouge Garrigue – A Rhône-inspired red that brings a little southern France to the Sierra Foothills.
- Terre Rouge Tête-à-Tête – A fitting finale to our tasting, showcasing the winery’s passion for approachable, expressive Rhône-style blends.
It’s a fun lineup that takes us from fresh and lively to deeper, richer reds. With November settling into Sunapee Harbor and cooler days calling for wines with a little more warmth and character, the timing couldn’t be better.
As always, our tastings are complimentary, casual, and all about discovering something new. Bring a friend, explore a few wines you might not have tried before, and enjoy a relaxed Thursday afternoon in the Harbor.
And there’s no reason to rush off when the tasting ends. We’ll be serving wine and beer by the glass during and after the event, so grab a glass, settle in, and stay awhile.
Four wines, one fascinating California winery, and a little fall sipping in Sunapee Harbor. We hope you’ll join us!
