Capanna Rosso del Cerro Toscana

Capanna, an illustrious winery in Italy, has been under the stewardship of the Cencioni family since 1957. Located in the Montosoli area north of Montalcino, Capanna was founded by Giuseppe Cencioni, and with help of his sons Benito and Franco, became one of the first farms established in the modern period of Brunello. They started bottling their own wines in the 1960’s and after Brunello di Montalcino was granted DOC status in 1966, Giuseppe became one of the 25 founders of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino. In 1975, Capanna began exporting its renowned Brunello di Montalcino DOC, starting with the Capanna 1970 vintage.

The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are made in steel tanks at a controlled temperature 25-27 °C (77.0-80.6 °F)
