Sunapee Cellar & Pantry is featuring the Frog’s Leap Rose, a bottle that is sold exclusively by our store in the state of NH.
Frog’s Leap Provençal-style rosé brings a vibrant burst of flavor and freshness – pure California sunshine in a glass.
And, if you’re a curious sort, keep scrolling to learn a little more about exactly what’s in the bottle.
1942 was a pivotal year in world history.
It marked the turning point of WWII in favor of the allies.
It was also the year the Ricetti Family planted 24 acres of Carignane on their Redwood Valley ranch. Which is exactly where Rory Williams was lucky enough to find it in 2015 while on a treasure hunt of sorts in Mendocino County.
Planting out that vineyard — which would take several more years to mature enough to produce a crop — was a true gesture of hope in an otherwise dark time. As stewards of our own land, and firm believers in the concept that great wine is grown in the vineyard, we couldn’t be prouder to be entrusted with the beautiful fruit of these heritage vines.

This wine was harvested in 2024, but its back story — if one takes the time to know it — offers the kind of time-place provenance that can make drinking it feel well, just a wee bit magical.
Something to ponder (or not) while you’re drinking the Pink!
