Our End of Summer Wine & Cheese Tasting on Thursday, September 3 just got even more delicious.
Joining us for the afternoon will be a cheese monger from our distributor, who has selected four cheeses to pair with the wines we’ll be pouring. It’s a chance to taste each wine on its own, then alongside its cheese pairing and discover how the flavors change when the two come together.
Here’s what we’ll be tasting:
Château Jeanguillon Bordeaux Blanc + Barn First Quinby
We’ll start fresh and bright, pairing our white Bordeaux with Barn First Quinby, a wonderful way to kick off the tasting.
Château du Trignon Gigondas + Harbison
The richer, savory character of Gigondas meets Harbison, a soft, creamy cheese with plenty of personality.
Giacosa Fratelli Barbera d’Alba Bussia + Parmigiano Reggiano
A classic Italian combination. The lively acidity and red fruit of Barbera make a natural partner for the nutty, savory depth of Parmigiano Reggiano.
La Posta Pizzella Malbec + Rupert
We’ll finish in Argentina with the full, rich flavors of Malbec paired with Rupert, a new cheese for us and one we’re excited to share.
Come taste all four combinations and see which pairing wins you over. The tasting is complimentary and takes place Thursday, September 3 from 4–6 PM at Sunapee Cellar & Pantry.
Four wines. Four cheeses. One very good reason to spend Thursday afternoon in Sunapee Harbor.
