“Gather with friends, discover something new, and celebrate the start of summer with us in the harbor.”
Join us Thursday, June 18, from 4–6 PM for an exceptional summer wine tasting featuring a thoughtfully curated selection from some of the most distinctive vineyards in Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
We’ll begin with a vibrant Rioja Rosé from Spain, followed by a crisp and elegant white from the southern shores of Italy’s Lake Garda. From there, we’ll travel to Portugal’s famed Douro Valley before finishing with the rich and romantic Romeo & Juliet Red.
As always, the tasting is complimentary, relaxed, and the perfect excuse to spend a summer afternoon in the harbor. We look forward to sharing these wonderful wines with you.
Make a night of it in Sunapee Harbor by using the tasting as a starting point to finish at Wildwood Smokehouse, the Blue Canoe, Fenton’s or Hoptimystic.
Baron De Ley Rioja
Rosado de Lágrima
Barón de Ley is a family-owned winery located in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Rioja, a privileged terroir to farm and craft premium quality wines.
Housed in a centuries-old monastery, where the monks made wine more than 500 years ago, Barón de Ley was founded in 1985 as a ground-breaking project in the DOCa Rioja: a vineyard-focused winery inspired by the French châteaux.
Honoring our brand name, de ley, which is the Spanish expression for legit, at Barón de Ley we take care of every little detail to offer in every bottle an excellent, trustworthy wine. A genuinely good Rioja.
A pale, fresh and mineral rosé made from the first pressings of Garnacha
Colour
Clean, pale pink colour with hints of coral.
Aroma
On the nose, it is complex and clean with white blossom aromas beautifully enhanced by hints of balsamic and ripe red fruits.
Palate
The palate is luscious, fresh and mineral, all perfectly balanced.
Food pairing
Serve this Provence-style wine chilled as an excellent apéritif and also alongside white meats, grilled fish and Asian cuisine.
I Frati Lugana DOC
Intended to be consumed as a vintage, it expresses the best of itself many years after bottling. When young, it is fresh, linear and furnished with great sophistication and elegance with delicate hints of white flowers, balsamic notes and traces of apricot.
Time enables it to evolve, allowing the mineral notes to be expressed with greater determination, thereby acquiring its complexity with iodine notes, spices and candied fruit. In the mouth, it is capable of enveloping the whole palate thanks to a significant savory essence, accompanied by strong, exuberant acidity.
When young, a serving temperature of around 10 degrees is preferable, with cold or warm – but delicate – starters and to accompany fish dishes, boiled, steamed or grilled.
Year: 2025
Bottle: 750 ml
Alcohol content: 13 % vol
Castello D’Alba Reserva Red
Very complex, intense aromas with the Touriga Franca conveying wild berries and rock rose. Spices and red fruit from the Tinta Roriz and very fresh, elegant floral notes of violet from the Touriga Nacional. 12 months aging in American and French oak barrels give the wine the mature touches of a great Douro wine with a modern, international profile. Sweet and full on the palate, with very soft, polished tannins and a long, warm finish. Serve with game, cod and Mediterranean cuisine.
About the Wine
- 8 months in seasoned French and oak barrels.
- Grape varieties: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz [Tempranillo].
- Schist soils of Douro Superior under dry farming.
Pasqua ROSSO VENETO
PASSIONESENTIMENTO
Founding wine and starting point of the Romeo&Juliet project; a red wine like love and passion. A blend of Corvina and Croatina with a percentage of Merlot, which the drying period renders velvetier still.
The grapes are picked by hand and left to dry in wooden crates in the drying loft. There, by means of humidity control and air circulation, the grapes lose around 30% of water content and achieve high sugar concentration.
Given that the grapes have differing ageing times, vinification takes place separately in steel tanks; thus the blend is created at the end of this process. PassioneSentimento is aged in oak tonneau barrels for 3 months.
Tasting Notes
A dense and deep colored wine, full of concentrated black and red cherry flavor, and hints of leather and spice. The palate has a layered texture, with muscular tannins providing a long finish.
